The old-timey blues and R&B of The California Honeydrops transports fans to a bygone musical era every time they take the stage. At their live shows the band whips up a New Orleans-style party, turning out their rootsy, celebratory tunes with infectious energy and tremendous musical prowess. In addition to guitar, drums, upright bass, trumpet, and saxophone The California Honeydrops incorporate old-fashioned instruments like jug, washboard, and gutbucket bass that are a heck of a lot of fun to see in action. Leading the charge is band leader Lech Wierzynski, a multi-talented performer whose soulful voice and clever lyrics make songs like "Pumpkin Pie" and "Like You Mean It" shine.
