PUP is a Toronto-based punk band whose acclaimed 2013 debut helped earn them a widespread audience both in and outside of Canada. The group quickly became a touring dynamo with a larger label behind them, and their quirky sense of humor and engaging songwriting played out over albums like The Dream Is Over in 2016 and Morbid Stuff in 2019. They signed with Universal for their fourth album, The Unraveling of Puptheband in 2022, and created a denser, though still frenetic sound by experimenting with different instruments. The group's guitar-based sound was front and center on their fifth LP You've Seen How I Live in 2025.

Long Island native Jeff Rosenstock first built his name fronting bands like Bomb the Music Industry! turning his frenetic talents to create blown-out punk, pop, ska, and lo-fi rock. Beginning with I Look Like Shit in 2012, he recast himself as a solo artist, encompassing both the ideals and eclectic sounds of all his previous bands while growing significantly as a songwriter. Towards the latter half of the decade, Rosenstock became known for releasing new albums with no advance notice, earning critical acclaim for releases like Post- in 2018 and NO DREAM in 2020, which he re-recorded as a ska album, titled SKA DREAM. Rosenstock experimented with hi-fi production for his raucous and gritty tunes on HELLMODE in 2023.
